For the second year in a row, Belknap Landscape receives a Cornerstone Award for "Outdoor Living Space." Belknap Landscape was awarded a Silver Cornerstone Award for their landscape project on a home in Alexandria, New Hampshire.
The outdoor living space was designed as a natural transiton, as you step off the deck, you immediately become a part of the landscape. A large stone slab crosses over the stream and waterfalls, leading you down the granite stairs to the patio. The patio serves as both a destination and transitional space as it connects to the "hide away" hot tub area with large granite stepping stones.
The stone fire pit is the perfect spot to enjoy the warmth of the fire and the sounds of water flowing over the rocks and into the basin. The landscape water feature was deisgned around the concept of a fallen stone retaining wall eroded over time by the flow of water behind it.
The addition of landscape lighting extended the use of the area long into the evening. The accent lighting at the water feature was designed to compliment and highlight the water flow at night. The addition of path lights and down lights provide a safe transition to the upper deck and beach.
The Cornerstone Awards are awarded yearly to recognize excellence in the building industry throughout the state of New Hampshire by the New Hampshire Home Builders Association.
